ADC Soloists at VDF 2015! February 9, 2015

This past weekend, the ADC took its first tour! Our Jazz/Contemporary Division soloists traveled down to Richmond on Saturday to perform at the Virginia Dance Festival, an event that raises money for the Children’s Hospital of Richmond.

After arriving, the girls were able to go onstage for a short rehearsal, and were in absolute awe of the beautiful Altria Theater on the VCU campus.

The piece they performed was a combination of old and new, taking a revised version of “The Curse” and pairing it with music from a piece that they performed last year. The finished piece was called “Look Alike.”

There were dozens of other companies and performers from around the region, resulting in a very diverse performance complete with traditional Irish, Chinese, and Indian dance, as well as ballet and other more commercial performances. The atmosphere was great; there was a lot of energy, and everyone was having a good time.

It was a great bonding experience, as well, and the girls spent the entire day together; from meeting at Adagio in the morning, to the car ride down, getting ready to perform, and wandering around downtown Richmond.

Stay tuned for more performance updates and be sure to come see the Adagio Dance Companies perform on Feb. 27!
