Saturday, June 13th Dress Rehearsal at Kenmore Middle School:

Show 1: Monday McLean classes and all Sunday Arlington & McLean classes:

  • 9:30am- Student arrival time
  • 10:00am- Rehearsal start time

Show 2:  All Saturday Arlington classes ONLY:

  • 11:30am- Student arrival time
  • 12:00pm- Rehearsal start time 

Show 3: Arlington Friday classes and all McLean Saturday classes:

  • 1:30pm- Student arrival time
  • 2:00pm- Rehearsal start time 

Show 4: Monday Arlington classes only and all Tuesday Arlington and McLean classes:

  • 3:30pm- Student arrival time
  • 4:00pm- Rehearsal start time

Show 5: All Wednesday and Thursday Arlington & McLean classes:

  • 5:30pm- Student arrival time
  • 6:00pm- Rehearsal start time

Costume Care

1. All costumes should be removed from bags and hung on hangers in a safe place.

2. Do not let students wear or play in costumes prior to June dress rehearsal (costumes
cannot be replaced).

3. Please keep all headpieces/accessories in a baggie attached to the costume hanger.

4. Do not iron or wash!

5. For girls ONLY pink tights should be worn underneath the costume (no underwear, bras,
socks, or nude leotards).

6. During the Spring Concert Performance weekend, there is no eating or drinking in
costume!

7. Dancers should arrive to the theatre with costume on and hair and make-up completed.
Please have a cover up to protect the costume when entering and exiting the theatre.
Hair:
Dancer’s hair should be slicked back with hairspray/gel. Girls should pull their hair into a
high bun using bobby pins and a hair net.

Make-up:
Dancers should wear brown eye shadow, mascara, pink blush and red lipstick. Under the
stage lights dancers will look washed out, stage make-up will help show their facial
features.

Shoes & Tights:
Ballet classes:
Girls should wear pink tights and pink ballet shoes. Boys should wear black ballet shoes.
Tights and shoes should be clean with no holes or runs.
Tap/Ballet combo classes:
Girls should wear pink tights. All dancers should wear black tap shoes. Tights and shoes
should be clean with no holes or runs.
All classes:
Adagio Ballet sells ballet, tap shoes and tights at the front desk. Dancers should be
prepared for the show weekend with 2 pairs of tights in case of emergency.
Accessories:
Dancers should not wear nail polish, rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces etc.

Performance Weekend Timeline and Information

Dancer preparation:

  • Shoes should be clean and labeled with dancer’s name.
  •  Light make-up is encouraged for all performers to avoid wash out from stage lights.
  • Underwear should not be worn under costume.
  • Hair should be worn off the face. Please consult costume & hair care sheet for specific
    instructions.
  • No jewelry, socks or other accessories should be worn during Dress Rehearsal or Performances.
  • Dress Rehearsal & Performance will replace ALL weekend classes for performers.

Dress Rehearsal: (Students should arrive in costume)

  • Upon arrival, performers will sign in at the front lobby and be directed to a backstage classroom.
  • Students will wait in the classroom until a teacher is ready to bring them to the stage.
  • After dancing, a teacher will escort students to have their picture taken by a photographer.
  •  Once photos are complete, instructors will bring students back to the classroom for parent pick-
    up and sign out.

Performance:

  • Dancers should arrive in costume with completed hair and make-up.
  • Parents will drop off dancers to the assigned classroom backstage and proceed to the lobby
    area.
  •  Performers will stay in their assigned classroom and be chaperoned backstage for the duration
    of the performance.
  •  Dancers can be picked up from their assigned classroom backstage at the end of the
    performance.
    Important notes for families:
  •  This is a ticketed event with assigned seating. Each family will receive 2 complimentary tickets
    per performer. The code for complimentary tickets will be emailed. Deadline to redeem all comp
    tickets is May 18 th 2020.
  •  Tickets will go on sale April 27 th 2020
