Full Time Teacher Position:

Adagio Ballet School of Dance, is seeking a full-time dance instructor for the 2018 – 2019 school year. Candidates must be comfortable teaching multiple genres of dance to a variety of ages and abilities. Successful candidates should be warm, nurturing, motivating and punctual with prior dance teaching experience. Full time teachers are expected to teach between 20 and 25 classes per week with supplemented office work and weekend availability. Prior professional performing experience and/or higher education dance/teaching degrees are preferred. Part Time Teacher Position:

Adagio Ballet School of Dance is seeking part-time dance instructors for the 2018 – 2019 school year. Interested candidates should be punctual, nurturing, energetic and comfortable teaching a variety of ages and abilities. Prior teaching/performance experience and/or higher education in a dance/performance related field is preferred. Candidates should forward a cover letter, resume and dance photos/videos to management@adagioballet.com for consideration.

Full-Time Administrator:

Adagio Ballet School of Dance is looking for a full-time Administrator with a positive, professional work attitude to join our Administrative team. This position requires excellent customer service and administrative skills in an educational, family-friendly environment. Interest or experience with dance and dance educational organizations preferred.

Start Date: June 1st, with training in May.

Responsibilities:

  • Work 40 hrs/wk at the front desk at the Arlington and McLean locations
  • Maintain high standard of customer service & upsell program offerings in person, by phone and email correspondence while adhering to external communication policy and tone.
  • Perform required administrative tasks related to email correspondence, registrations, trial students, projects and performances.
  • Assist with apparel sales, ordering, and inventory maintenance.
  • Assist with events and performances.
  • Function as liaison between students, management, and teachers.
  • Function as reliable resource to students and families across all aspects of their experience. Involve management as needed to ensure an all-around positive and successful customer experience.
  • Project management in one or more areas- Event coordination, Marketing & Social Media, Location supervision, Registrar, academic coordination, & student company coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and relevant work experience
  • Administrative and customer service experience required.
  • Excellent communication/written skills, strong customer service, and skilled with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Skilled with Excel and statistical analysis
  • Marketing and Event coordination in non-profit or for-profit a plus.
  • Experience in dance, education, and work with children is preferred.
  • Must be able to commit for a minimum of one calendar year.
  • Must be open to some work on weekends and weekday evenings until 8pm.

Dance Teacher
We are looking for the committed artists, whose heart is in teaching dance as a career, who has a genuine love for children and has a strong background in Classical Ballet,Jazz and Modern, and/or Tap. Having a degree in teaching dance to children as well as willingness to follow a structured program and curriculum is a must. Training is necessary for all new hires in order to learn and adapt to our program, methodology, and expectations. Adagio offers full-time and part-time teaching positions.
