Ms. Laura
Laura Rae Doughty is a graduate of The Juilliard School in NYC. She started dancing at age 3. Her professional career begun at age 15 with the Philadelphia Civic Ballet and Ballet South of NJ. Laura is proficient in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Latin and Mexican folklore dance forms.
Ms Laura has performed, taught and choreographed in various parts of the USA, Mexico, Greece and Japan. She has performed alongside artists from the National Ballets of Cuba and Mexico, Les Grands Ballets Canadiens and La Scala of Italy and the 1998 Winter Olympics Opening in Nagano, Japan . Laura's solo work in New York City was selected to be presented by New Choreographers on Pointe and received critical acclaim in Attitude magazine, The Voice, and The New York Times. Laura also choreographed an Off-Broadway comedy production "Only You" by Timothy Mason, which received critical acclaim in The New York Times. Laura has performed works by such choreographers as Balanchine, Marius Petipa, Kenneth MacMillan, Anthony Tudor, Martha Graham, Jose Limon, Isadora Duncan, Doris Humphrey, Anna Sokolow, Paul Taylor, David Parsons, Laura Dean, Laura Glenn, Charles Moulton, Philip Jerry and many more.
While in NYC Laura taught for the Hebrew Arts School, and for Bodies in Motion; at which she developed and implemented the curriculum for the children's dance program. Laura has always continued to teach throughout her professional career as a performer and choreographer as it is truly her passion. She is very excited to contribute to the growth of the Students of Adagio Ballet
