Pre-Professional Performance Workshop

Intensive level students will be invited to an audition during the winter session and then will be offered the opportunity to participate in the Performance Workshop.  Then the full day 1-week workshop will focus on teaching the students repertory and rehearsing these new choreographic pieces that will be performed later in a performance in early October.  Ballet, Contemporary, and Yoga/Pilates classes will be taught and with the afternoons dedicated to rehearsals.  Students will be expected to quickly memorize choreography, learn and embody the style, and have the discipline to apply corrections.  Students will have the experience to understand the dancer’s role in a company setting and to be a part of a choreographic process.  The week workshop will conclude with a work-in-progress showing in Adagio Ballet’s Black Box Theater.  The students will be asked to commit to one extra rehearsal a week starting in the Fall Session in September to help the students prepare for the final performance in October.  The professional performance will be produced by one of Adagio Ballet’s Faculty and will be an opportunity for the students to perform along side professional dancers.
