Jazz Pop Stars

The "Jazz Pop Stars" camp is designed especially for students ages 6-9 who love the self-expression through Jazz dancing.  The camp offers an unforgettable summer experience for the dancers who are still beginning their journey into the art of Jazz Dance. The dancers will select their favorite pop songs and be guided in the creation of their own dance choreography.  We will emphasis the importance of musicality and self-expression through their creative dance-making while nurturing each dancer’s star power and stage presence! 
With Adagio Ballet’s new state-of-the-art Black Box Theater, students will have the unique opportunity to see their creations transform from the studio to the stage! The students will learn about the elements of stage production and help prepare the lighting, props, and costumes for the unforgettable show.  On the last day of the camp, students will present their Jazz Pop Stars performance to family and friends in the Black Box Theater. Come and applaud your dancer’s achievements! Bring your cameras!
The camp consists of a level appropriate jazz technique, the introduction of new movements and combinations both across the floor and in the center. Every camper will feel proud to be a co-creator of the final dance performance. The campers will make new friends during craft and snack time (Juice & Healthy Snack provided) while they work on designing and decorating their own props to be used in the performance.
This camp will help aspiring dancers to deepen their passion for dance, develop a better understanding of the jazz technique by enhancing their dance vocabulary and terminology, coordination, extensions and dance personality. They will cooperate and share with other dancers. The students will progress at a faster rate as they prepare for their continued training in the fall.
