Junior Jazz

Junior Jazz Students build on their beginner foundation to combine body isolations into traveling steps, to successfully complete simple turns and to display correct body alignment in small jumps. Junior Jazz Students spend more time doing accross the floor combinations as they improve their musicality and spacial awareness. Another focus of the Junior Jazz levels is the Students' understanding of the connection between technical movements/choreography with the meaning/character of the dance piece.
Requirements:Students have a solid understanding of all Beginning Level techniqueand terminology. They understand and are comfortable with the conceptof expressing their personality through dance. They are able to performwith confidence and maximum energy.

Objective: Students willbuild up on existing technique through complex combinations andexploration of the concept of “suspension and release". Requirements:Students have completed Jazz 1, and have a strong foundation inFlexibility, control, and balance. They can execute movements withenergy and precision and understand the difference between movementqualities and dynamics; perform different qualities back to back in acombination. Requirements:This class is the highest level of the Junior jazz program. Students who has successfully finished the Junior Jazz II level or a similar level in other jazz dance program are eligible to join this class . The dancers are expected to have the following dance knowledge ad skills in order to progress through the level: proficient knowledge in all the technique elements from the previous dance levels; ability to perform longer dance phrases ( 32-64 counts) with sustained power and energy; ability to articulate the movements by demonstration of different movement qualities;self-correction; ...
