Intensive Jazz

Our Intensive Jazz program is designed for Students who are interested in learning the jazz dance form in all of its complexity. The Intensive Jazz levels meet twice a week, and progressively focus on increasing strength, flexibility, and stamina. Intensive Students' technique and artistic skills are developed as across the floor combinations become more complex and require high levels of dance coordination, as well as the ability to memorize and learn at a faster pace. Intensive Jazz Students will be introduced to improvisation, Modern technique and influence, and "competition jazz" components. Students will consistently work on higher jumps, stronger movements, and quicker steps, as they explore every aspect of the Jazz dance form.
Students who had successfully completed: Jazz Intensive 1, or students that have completed Beginning Jazz II or III, Beginning Ballet II or III, Beginning Tap II or III levels at Adagio Ballet School or any Introductory/Beginners jazz level at another program. (Age 8-10)

The second level of the Intensive Jazz Program continues to build the students’ technique (strength, flexibility, stamina) and artistic skill. The Center and Across the Floor combinations become more complex and require a good level of dance coordination, as well as the ability to memorize and learn at a faster pace ...

Students who had successfully completed: Jazz Intensive 2, or students that have completed Beginning Jazz III or Junior Jazz I, Beginning Ballet III or Junior Ballet I, Beginning Tap III or Junior Tap I levels at Adagio Ballet School or any Advanced Beginners/Intermediate jazz level at another program. (Age 9-12)

The third level of the Intensive Jazz Program continues to build the students strength, stamina, and performance ability.  Work with improvisation will be introduced at this level.  We will explore the modern technique and its influence on Jazz Dance.

The fourth level of the Intensive Jazz Program further develops the dancers' strength and performance quality. The focus is placed on achieving higher jumps, stronger movements and faster, more articulated footwork. In this level the Students explore the style "lyrical jazz.”. Locations:  
This is the level in which the Students gain confidence in their abilities to produce an expressive and well rounded dance performance. They become more fluent in presenting different jazz styles: from the classical Broadway to the contemporary fusion dance forms. Main focus of this level is the communication of emotions and ideas through jazz dance. By creating an original choreography for their fellow dancers the Students at this level learn to aply their knowledge in both creative and high quality demanding way.
