Junior Ballet

Our Junior Ballet level Students focus on the graceful movement of the entire body, as opposed to separate parts. Students establish the overall harmony of their dancing through learning how to place equal emphasis of the arms, body carriage, posture, and leg action. The main goals of the Junior Ballet levels are to instill greater technical consistency in Students through reiterating strong understanding of the fundamental rules and theories of ballet. Additionally, Junior Ballet Students learn to understand and pass the emotional message of dancing on a deeper and more complex level.
In our first class of the Junior Ballet level, the focus is placed on the graceful and well coordinated movements of the dancer’s entire body. At this level the 1st to 4th Port de bras are already established in their main forms and now the are developed with the concentration on fluidity, extended graceful lines and their connection .   of the fluid port de bras, first through fourth, as well as the the carriage of the upper body are primary goals. At this level, students learn to understand and pass to the audience the emotional message of dancing in its more complex form.  Dancers are confident and proficient enough to place equal emphasis on technique and performance ability, to express greater emotional nuances on the stage. Elements from the main Character dances are included in the program for this level to expand the performance repertoire of our students.
