Dancing Princesses
- Ballet – theatrical work with
dancers, costumes, and scenery creating movement and expression
- Ballerina – female dancer
- Tutu – Classical/Romantic ballet

- Barre – horizontal wooden bar in the
classroom in which the dancer holds for support
- Port de Bras – carriage of the
arms
- Plie – to bend the knees
- Demi Plie – little bend of the
knees
- Releve - to rise
- Pique – to prick your toes, “fast
points”
- Passe – to pass
- Demi Pointes – standing on the balls
of your feet “half pointes”
- Arabesque – basic ballet pose
- Temps lie – step to connect
- Diagonale – in a diagonal
progression
- Adagio- slow and graceful movements,

- Allegro – fast, lively, brisk

- Chasse – to chase the feet
